Hey! I'm Alex. I play guitar in a band called Currents. I enjoy playing shows, drinking beer, and being with my friends. Read my tumblr that contains a whole bunch of useless information!

Why do so many people give immense amounts of attention to a kid who looks like a white-trash homeless person? Not to mention that his music is just as horrible as his appearance.
My Les Paul is no more.
The headstock cracked.
My guitar is now in two pieces.
Fuck my life.
alright well first of all, my birthday was intense! i had a great time, and the party was a great time!
Aside from that, some shit has been going down with the band lately. Nothing threatening the band’s life; more like our image and reputation. My band decided in May sometime, that it was time to part ways with our singer at the time. In other words, WE KICKED HER OUT of the band, and it was solely our decision; NOT hers. Just recently, Ryan, our drummer has been receiving negative texts from our old singer, saying stuff along the lines of “I’ll see you guys later when I rise to top of music, and you’re just some shitty local band.” The list goes way on and on. She was most offended because we haven’t updated our MySpace page and still have a couple of pictures of us and a song on our page. This is also because we had to spend an additional X amount of money to Re-Record BRAND NEW vocal tracks on our songs because the ones with our old singer didn’t cut it. Now I’ll completely man up and admit that Ryan and myself said some pretty harsh words in response to her the other night when she decided to go out of her way and text us a bunch of bullshit that didn’t need to be said. Unlike Ryan, I AM NOT sorry for what I said; call me what you will… Anyone that has the balls to call out myself and my band on some nonsense and shit that isn’t true, deserves the worst for them in their career. Long story short, she felt that it was necessary to leak our entire EP with her shitty vocals on it to her ever-so-large fanbase out there… by that I mean 3 friends who thinks she has talent. Apparently she “hired a group to record a backing track (all of the actual music) for her to sing over,” claiming that she wrote and owns all of the songs that are actually Ours (Currents) That’s a general quote of something along the lines of what she said. She also proceeds to attempt to make a mockery of our band posting stuff like “Many of you know me as the lead vocalist of a band called Currents and after much drama and conflict in the band it was best that i no longer worked with any of them. I would have to say that it was the best decision I ever made.” REALLY? WHAT DECISION DID YOU MAKE? The decision to hang up the fucking phone on me after 30 minutes of you telling me that you don’t understand why we’re kicking you out of the band and you begging us to reconsider OUR decision? Yeah, when you realized that I wasn’t going to budge and reconsider what was already decided. She also has a video of an Acoustic show we played in the Bronx on her page, with the caption “Heres a video clip of me singing for my old band… some kicks and giggles.lol” The only kicks and giggles is the fact that your singing over our songs… the songs that WE wrote. And by WE I mean myself (Alex Cahill), Ryan Edmundson, Mike Costello, William Gipe, and fuck it, I’ll man up and say TJ Gentile and even Mark Shami had a bit of involvement in 2 songs that we play. For those of you asking questions, they are ex members of the band that we’re around when we wrote 2 select songs well over a year ago. I’ve gone on a complete rant, but fuck it, why should I not? It is completley hypocritical that she calls us out on the fact that her face is still on our MySpace page and that we’re still promoting a song that has her words on it. OK, then why the fuck do you have a video of Mike and me on it, with you singing? You’re still promoting one of my band’s songs, and our images, the same fucking thing that you got pissed at us for. I’m going to have call it quits with this blog entry for now. If you’re interested in more of what happend, read Ryan’s over @ http://www.ryan-edmundson.tumblr.com His posts are hilarious and you’ll for sure get a kick out of what he writes!

Today’s my birthday! I’m finally 19 and this is my last year as a teenager. It’s kinda weird but I’m stoked on being 19 and growing up just a little bit more. Kinda surprising, haha. Anyways, I worked this morning 6am-1pm on an hour’s worth of sleep. I’m pretty dead right now and just got back from getting lunch with my father and brother. My mom’s unfortunately at work so she couldn’t come. I’m not too sure what’s going on tonight actually. Plans right now are to hit up the city with a couple of drinks and take it from there. The weather is holding up nice for once, seeing as to how it was supposed to rain, just like it’s been doing for the past week. Anyways, thanks for all of the birthday wishes everyone! I’m going to head out now, since the weather’s nice!

Tonight, I climbed this bridge - 115 ft high, 1,100 ft long, built in the early 1900’s. A couple friends of mine told me that they heard about this in weird NJ and that it was worth going to. Apparently the dudes in WeirdNJ felt the same way as they are quoted, “Of all the abandoned places that Weird NJ has explored over the years none match the awe inspiring architectural magnificence of the Paulinskill Viaduct.” We climbed through sketchy rooms, and across wooden planks while holding onto wire to keep from falling into large amounts of water. The cool part about this place was that there are a ton of different rooms throughout the structure of the bridge that were supposed to be used to inspect the structure of the large bridge. Obviously spraypainted and full of graffiti, it was crazy climbing through this massive structure. We found a ladder going to the ceiling that led to the top of the bridge. It was so crazy climbing the ladder and squeezing through a small opening on top because I thought i was going to fall to my death, but it was definitely worth it. Although it was night time, the view was absolutely beautiful. I want to go back soon, during the day so that I can see and appreciate more of the view and the actual bridge. Although it was a frightening experience, it was probably the craziest and most fun time ever. I would reccomend this place for anyone who enjoys the thrill of a weirdNJ adventure. This bridge is super worth it; just wear shitty clothes, because I came home filthy with dirt and mud. Search the Paulinskill Viaduct on Google and read more up on it and check out the pictures because they’re ridiculous.
